On November 13, Scott completed his first half ironman triathlon. He competed in the Beach 2 Battleship, a long distance triathlon in Wilmington, NC. A half ironman consists of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 run. This was a huge accomplishment for him that took a tremendous amount of dedication and discipline to complete the training which began in the summer. The girls and I watched Scott put hours of training in each week, many times early in the mornings and again in the evenings. When race day finally arrived, I think I was more nervous than him! The girls and I were able to see him several times on the course on his bike and during his run to offer our support and encouragement. It was such an exciting day to see all of his hard work pay off. Words can't describe how proud I was of him when he crossed that finish line. He is such an awesome example of hard work and dedication for our girls! We are so proud of you Scott!
