Back to School

I can't believe it's time for summer to end and a new school year to begin! I have enjoyed my slow, relaxing summer days, but am ready for the fresh start of a new school year. This year is especially special because Hayley gets to start kindergarten at the school where I work. This made it much less emotional for me since I can check on her as I need to, eat lunch with her, and just be even more involved with her classroom. Her teacher is Mrs. Ports whom I think is a wonderful teacher that will take great care of her. Hayley is more than ready for kindergarten and I am sure she will do great! She absolutely loved the first week and is ready to begin another week. She thinks eating in the cafeteria is so neat and also going to the related arts classes such as art, PE, and music.

Ella is returning to her preschool but in a 3 year old class three times a week. She is "looping" up with all her same classmates from last year which has made this transition very easy and comfortable for her. She is even familiar with her teacher, Mrs. Wells, since that was Hayley's 3 year old teacher a few years ago. It is a little different for Ella to go to her school without Hayley this year, but she seems to be enjoying her special alone time with her grandmothers that pick her up after school and with "Mommy" the two days she is at home.
