Hayley just began playing on her first basketball team for our church. It is an all girl team of 4/5 year olds who are called the "ladybugs." Hayley especially loves the team name. When Scott signed her up for basketball, I was a little unsure of how it would go knowing Hayley's non-aggressive personality and her lack of experience with any basketball skills. However, after the first practice I learned all the other little girls were in the same boat. No one knew how to dribble or any rules of the game. After many practices, they have come a long way. We enjoy going to the games each Saturday. The games are really quite entertaining too. The girls are so precious as they practice and try to understand what this sport is all about. Scott is assisting the coach during the games and of course Hayley loves that! The coaches work hard to teach the girls the difference between offense and defense, dribbling skills, and the proper way to shoot. Hayley still prefers the "granny shot." For the girls, they love seeing their friends, running up and down the court, the crowd of proud parents cheering when they score a basket, and most of all the yummy snacks after the game. Hayley especially loves to dribble the ball down the court and to pass it to other friends on her team. To her, it's one big social event. Go Ladybugs!
Hayley's friends, Courntey and Hayden, are on her team.
